Twist the handle on the winder to unlock it, then reel the strap in (just like a fishing reel). Once the strap is all wound up and secure, you can twist the handle into one of the holes on the winder to lock it in place. The tie-down is now neat, tidy, secure, and ready to be stored. When you want to tie something down, simply unlock the handle, pull out as much strap as you need to get the hooks on.
